While I don't smallmouth fish much my son loves to fish for them, and I go with him occasionally.
While I do not small mouth fish that much, my son loves to fish for them and I go with him occasionally. Grizzledjig makes some good recommendations. Some other options could be the Elk River and probably the most popular small mouth stream in this part of the country would be the Buffalo River. I would caution you to stay on top of the water flow on any of these rivers as excess rain fall can dramatically affect the fishing conditions.
Kings River. Go after a rain.
