Angry Contact Gene Ludwig about his destroying 41 ancient Cypress trees on Little Maumelle

[B]If you would like to voice your opinion to Attorney Gene Ludwig concerning his destruction of the ancient Cypress Trees on the Little Maumelle River then go to his website www.ludwiglawfirm.com and email him your concerns via his website or better yet call him 800-950-1999 or 501 868-7500. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF LITTLE ROCK SO WHY NOT ALSO CALL THE CITY PLANNING BOARD AND THE LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ABOUT THE ISSUEING OF THIS BUILDING PERMIT AND CALL THE CITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS!!!

PLEASE READ THe ARTICLE WHICH RAN IN THE NEWSPAPER LAST FRIDAY, AUG 3, 2007, BY BRANDOM TUBBS. SOUNDS LIKE ANYONE IN PULASKI COUNTY CAN BUILD A LANDING STRIP ON THEIR LAND. What really angers me is he went out in the middle of the night and cut down those trees with a chain saw knowing there was a lawsuit pending to stop the construction of his airstrip and that it was questionable whether he was in compliance with the city of Little Rock regulations for an airstrip which the county required since the land is not zoned for a landing strip, etc. If the lawsuit says he can not build a landing strip the trees will still be gone and there is no way to replace them. If the investigation by the State of Arkansas Attorney Generals office find that those trees are the property of the state and thus belong to the taxpayers there is no way to pay us all back for our loss and the damages done to future generations! Please read the excellent article on this situation by Brandon Tubbs that was published last Friday Aug 3,2007 in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazetter Newspaper in the Arkansas Section on page 16 titled "Airpark Rumors fly; LR builder denies..."

Awesome post fishingbuddy. I sure hope they put the breaks on this guys personal airport. That whole area out 10 is under attack by developers. I am still shocked they voted to allow homes being built in the Lake Maumelle watershed. Not to mention the sewer treatment plant that will discharge into the Little Maumelle. Looks to me like if you got the money you can buy any official you want that will alow you to destroy our natural resorces.

Unfortunately sounds like yall have some of what Louisiana has had for years.
People with the money can do what they want, regardless of the laws. They just keep paying off the ones that should be inforcing the laws! Hate to hear that about Arkansas, I think it is one of the prettiest states we have and like you said there is no way to get the trees back.

I agree, that's messed up. I agree with Shadow, seems like if you have enough money you can do what you want to, where-ever you want.... Sorry that's happening to yall.

OH, I'M GOING TO EXPRESS MY CONCERN ALRIGHT. FOR ANY OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN TO GREENLEAF STATE PARK IN OKLAHOMA, IMAGINE WHAT THAT PARK WOULD LOOK LIKE IF THEY TOOK AWAY THE ANCIENT CYPRESS TREES.

THIS IS B.S. AND I BELIEVE THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SOME SORT OF AGREEMENT OR SETTLEMENT RATHER THEN WIPING THEM OUT LIKE THAT.

ARKANSAS IS A BEATIFUL "NATURAL" STATE AND IT ANGERS ME THAT SOME STUPID ATTORNEY THINKS HE CAN JUST CHANGE THAT....GRRR!
