There are a couple old concrete pillars in the river channel that are in about 21 FOW. I bumped one today with my trolling motor! They’re dropping the lake still another foot.
These were left from when the old railroad ran across the lake bed and crossed the river channel. So far, they are not marked by anyone. This is right where everyone runs wide open.
I discussed it with a COE worker and told him how close they were to the surface and he was going to tell them at the office.
A few of the folks I’ve talked with are from Conway/Mayflower area as Lake Conway is drained. Most are first timers here and are unaware of these concrete hazards.
They opened the dam back up yesterday and they only need to drain .76 of a foot more to complete the drawdown. I sure hope they mark these pillars somehow before someone unknowingly tears up a motor or gets injured.

I warned them about the bridge supports last drawdown. Think they buoy marked them last draw down after it was down for a while. That is the old train tram across the lakebed that was used to haul logs out of the mountains before the lake was built. Still not easy launching at Andersons branch. Ramp does not slope enough and muddy banks. Carden point off the rocky end best place to put in. Take it slow with all the shallow obstacles, rocks and stumps that would wreck a lower units.
