I would like to bring my frying rig. It sure looked like poor old Jerry needed more help at the spring camp.

Don, I think that would be great and THANK YOU. Of course, I'm going to have some crappie on standby, but I'm hoping when we all finish fishing on Saturday we can get some great pics of all the fish. Then get a few guys set up at a cleaning station, washing them up and then dropping them right in the hot oil (after some serious mustard and hot sause dressing with cornmeal to follow of course). THANK YOU AGAIN.Quote:

Hopefully I'll be able to make it down for at least a day, but it looks doubtful as of now. Either way, I'm sure that one of y'all will catch a crappie and eat a crappie fillet in my honor...
Oh man, with Lake Greeson down low right now Jerry and I were scouting and we found some great spots for you to do your slow trolling. Lots of low lying stumps not much else to get hung up on very near spawning areas if not the spawning flats when the water is clear. Hope to see you in a few weeks if you can. But I got you covered for next spring brother.Quote:

Now that I can make happen. We'll just have to invite a few troopers to keep the illegalities on the low down, lol, just kidding, or not. Or, maybe we can just have a super fun night stalk!!! I've already decided to claim CEB as my PCP (primary care physician). When I die you're going to be the one who signs the death certificate. Don't mean to be morbid or anything, but I'm serious. You're the man. I am as proud of you as a father is for his own son. Keep after it and don't give an inch. I can't even think of the smallest thing I could do for you but if you do, you had better call me. It would be my pleasure, brother.Quote:

Just received a sizable shipment of Tournament Plastic Baits ( www.niffken.com ) that will be available at crappie camp. Thanks for the donation and I will make sure everyone gets there hands on them.
I still need to know who all is coming to the camp and what will be brought to the fish fry. Otherwise, you boys get what you catch, lol.
Looking forward to seeing you all,
Fall Crappie Camp is just a week and a half away and if the weather forecast holds true we'll finally be getting the cooler weather we need to get the crappie bunching up and biting better.
I'm looking forward to seeing old friends again and meeting new folks. As Darryl mentioned this Crappie Camp will be a bit more laid back so I'm hoping to have more time to relax and visit.
Darryl and I, with the help of a couple of friends, have been building and sinking bamboo crappie condos - http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=12162 - this year whenever we're not busy guiding. We’ve put in over 150 condos since March. They are all the tall "bucket type" condos and most should be fishable now. They are at a variety of depths so some may be a bit deep and some may be a bit shallow. In areas where there are two or three condos close together they should each be about 5 to 10-foot difference in depth. There should be plenty of places for everyone to fish. The crappie could be anywhere from 6 to 20-feet deep depending on how much the water cools off and what part of the lake you’re fishing.
If you want a file containing waypoints for these condos email me at [email protected] and I’ll send it to you. If you don’t already have it you’ll need to download EasyGPS from www.easygps.com. It’s a free download. Then you can open the file and view each waypoint on a variety of maps by “Right Clicking” on the waypoint and then selecting “View Online” and then select the map you want to view it on. I usually use TopZone and start with the 1:100,000 size. Once you are on the map you can select different size maps and zoom in or out to orient yourself on the lake.
You can also use EasyGPS to upload either the whole file or just the waypoints you want onto your GPS. The file numbers start at 1001 and go up so they shouldn't override waypoints you already have saved on your GPS.
Darryl will have his laptop at Crappie Camp so he can load the file onto your GPS if you have a USB or Serial cable for your GPS. He has data cables for Garmin Map76 and I have one somewhere for the Geko and Etrex units but it would be best to get the waypoints on your GPS before coming to Crappie Camp if possible so you'll be ready to hit the water when you get there.
Hope to see you all at Fall Crappie Camp at Kirby Landing on Lake Greeson!
Hey Darryl,
Looks like I'm gonna miss the fall camp, still working on a maybe. I don't know if I can get away with going to the Ar/Auburn game and fishing in the same weekend, but I'm working on all the rat killin I can just in case. You better keep a watchful eye over gooch. I'm sure he'll get along just find without me, but probably not as many fish in the boat;)
