Default Crappie not near as picky when it comes to baits as fishermen

Seems like fish biting everywhere right now even with the high water . Last 3 limits I vacuum sealed almost 50 lbs of fillets . Males turning dark and moving shallow. I used same jig several trips but had to finally retire it . Caught a big slab and it was hooked in the roof of it's mouth , hook broke getting it out . It looked pitiful after several trips anyway, paint mostly gone and it was looking bald. Been really tired , Carpel Tunnel and old arthritis had me wanting a lighter pole. Been using a Jerry Hancock ( Stryker ) and it is super light but stout. Huckabee and Power Crappie has a winner with this new rod . Takeum jigs have been so good for me I just about quit NIMROD specials ( purple/chartuse Umbrella tubes ).
