need advice for ARKANSAS river catfishing
as a kid I was always envious of guys who fished for catfish below the dams with big rods, I could never figure out how they didn't lose there terminal tackle. Now I think I want to give it a try, any advice?

Some have all 3 . Some have concrete baffles to slow current . We used to wade below Nimrod dam (Fouche la Fave River) on the concrete but it dropped off at a point closee to the dam . Sure Arkansas River dams most likely have something like it .Originally Posted by flymoron

Low water I catch lots of smaller ones on doc's dip bait up close to the Wilbur mills dam. Only 3-4 pounds but I don't watch those 40-80 pound fish. Ounce sinker above a swivel with a dip worm.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
