Went to CC this past weekend for a few hours of afternoon fishing. I haven't ever had much luck with an afternoon bite out there, so I wasn't expecting much. The lake looked great, and the grass wasn't too bad. It was kinda patchy with a really defined grass line on the north side of the treeline. Couldn't find any keeper crappie, but I didn't really get to fish very hard, as I had the wife-to-be along for the ride. We found a few bream, a couple of small crappie, and a couple dozen LMB that must have hatched this spring. They were the smallest bass that I've ever seen...but they were extremely fiesty. The majority weren't even hooked...they were just holding onto the minnow for dear life. I guess they were hungry and didn't know any better...:D Anyways, it looks like it will still be a little while until the crappie action picks up some. I guess thats a good thing, since I won't be able to make any trips for awhile. Here's a few pics of our CC whoppers...

Wife-to-be with a hawg...

And somehow, she caught the only 2 crappie of the day...both of which were about this size...
