Thanks for the river report. I guess it's gonna be awhile before the river gets back to stable. I might as well take up bream fishin' at Conway for the next week...

We went out to the river last night in search of cats and brim, and good lord is the water high. For those of you familiar with it, the ponds on the perry county side are completely underwater, and the faulkner county side is flooded up to the top of the levys. The current was so bad that it was movin 8 oz. weights right around, we could only find one place that was still enough to fish, and it was close to the lock.
As far as fish caught, we talked to other people who were fishin there, and not a single person I talked to had caught anything. We called it quits and headed home @ 10pm....

Put in @ burns park on sat. river was movin so quick out in the main channel it was scarry. went up the creek by ramp only caught a few pumpkin seeds.
I hope that none of you are venturing out on the main river in these conditions. The current flows are at scary levels and in addition to the flow there is a ton of floating debris that could end your trip and life in a hurry.
Stay off the river untill the flows are below 75,000 cfs
I may have to go try it soon...might be able to just stick a net out there and catch 'em as they come by...:D
I had no idea that it's so bad 'till I looked at the forecast. Looks like the river is about 4' above normal with almost 150K cfs...that's a rockin' and rollin'...
The forecast I am getting from the COE sez it ain't gonna get any better the rest of this week. Might be longer dpending on how much more rain Oklahoma gets.
KNOCK IT OFF GRUBBY!!!!!

You aren't jokin bout that debris floatin downriver. After this rain yesterday, as well as everything upriver of here, i don't reckon i will be fishin the river anytime soon.
But, now that I think of it, when it does go down, those ponds on the perry county side are gonna be real good fishin!
Yeah this high River water should help restock the small old rivers, oxbows etcso I guess there is some good from it.
Hey DP its not me I didnt do it lol. I'm tired of all this rain myself. The lakes are full and still getting deeper. The darn river is runing to darn big to fish so my fishing has come to a halt for a little while around here. I guess it gives me more time to get the honey do's out of the way. Shes working my tail off around here. got to get out and go fishing to dodge some of the yard work lol.Originally Posted by DRPEPPER
