Weigh In

So, you figure the agfc is slacking their duty. Yo-yos are supposed to be marked to show owners. Either they aren't checking to see they are marked or following up to locate owners of abandoned devices. If current laws are enforced yo-yos will not be a problem.

It is not the AGFC's duty to ride around and check yo-yo's for names, that is the responsibility of those that use them to police themselves and follow the rules. If we all police ourselves then we don't have an issue and the AGFC can do much more good for us all by attending better projects.
Sorry Slip Knot, I had to "Weigh In" my thoughts since this thread turned into another yo-yo discussion. Maybe we can get back to the discussion as I find it interesting what type of year others have had on catch rates around the state.

Problem is small AGFC lakes , most have houses all around them . Many put out yoyos but never take them up .:twocents As far as livescope ,I was doing pretty good last 50 years without one .:biggrin

I’ll weigh in to get back on topic. Not sure how many I’ve caught but I’ve got 12 in my freezer. No need to load the freezer down since I’ve gotta livescope haha

LiveScope... I was over a submerged tree the other day I know was loaded with fish. Couldn't even get a nibble. I would have liked to have had livescope then to see how the fish were reacting in real time to my jig. I have such conflicting thoughts about livescope... After seeing it in person and fished with it, I can definitely see the appeal. As of right now, I really enjoy my minimalist approach to crappie fishing. To each his own. I may eventually get so frustrated with not catching fish that I give up and get a livescope.

I suppose my hang up is my uncle. He is my fishing mentor or whatever. He is the barometer (for me) of what a crappie fisherman is. Small boat. Outboard motor. No trolling motor. No electronics. And the guy can pull crappie. It's really something to watch.
