    Default Zebra Mussels

I heard a rumor that the Zebra Mussels had died out in the Arkansas river, can anyone confirm that?

I'll say no. I hope it did happen but I don't think its that easy. Also My friend said the catfish he caught last year were plum full of them things. I wonder if catfish can digest them? I need to find out.

I doubt that they will ever die out. The Blue Catfish feed on Native mussles and Zebras also. The insides of the mussles are digested , but the shells pass through. That must make their bung holes sore as those shells are sharp edged !

I caught a 10lb blue cat out of Lake Austell near Wynne a couple of years ago and when I cleaned it a pile of mussle shells fell out. I was wondering how they could eat that many, and if they ever passed the shells. Found out they feed on them quite often.
