Hey guys, I've been trying to catch some crappie on Lake Fayetteville, but haven't had much luck. I'd really appreciate any advice.

Yesterday I took the boat out for an hour and a half and was only able to catch one. When I got to the lake I stopped by the office and picked up some minnows. The girl working told me they had been catching crappie off the dam. So I hopped in the boat and trolled up and down the dam hoping to mark some fish.

(That was the first time I've really tried to find fish on the depth finder. For reference, I have an old cheap black and white hummingbird piranha. Maybe that's part of the problem?)

The crappie I caught was in about 6ft of water between Cove 1 and the dam on a submerged vertical tree. I thought I had found them so I fished that tree a little more and then continued to fish trees and stumps on the bank.

I didn't have much time so I wasn't able to fish more than the dam, water intake tower, and Cove 1.

Is anyone familiar with this lake that could help me catch dinner? Thanks!
