Easter was late this year and we usually get a cool snap about then . Sure been unseasonably cold with lots of wind and rain . Most lakes in my area (west-central Arkansas ) are high and muddy . Water temps fell with the cold nights and rain. Yesterday I was finding water temps as low as 54 to 60 degrees. Man these crappie sure going to be late / confused about spawning on some lakes . Still catching a few 10 to 16' deep ,some males not turned dark and all the females full of eggs . I know some lakes they were spawning weeks go . Guess if temps jump up these will just spawn late ?
