Took a day off and snuck the boy away from school while mom was away a few days with work. The water was like chocolate milk, but weather was perfect. We managed 6 fish, but biggest was 2.2 that my son got to haul and was an awesome experience for him and myself. Got to say, I was a little disappointed in the fish count, but my 5 year old hung tight and managed 9 hours of grind on the water which was a good sign for me. We lost a couple of nice ones after wrestling a make shift umbrella on the front of the boat trying to keep the sun off of him to keep mom happy. He is going to be a lot better fisherman than me. I hope I have many more days like this to come. BTW, the fish on the left had a hook in her belly and a leader hanging out of her mouth as you can see in the photo. I didn't even notice it until my son pointed it out.

Oh, and guess who just boated up and struck up a conversation but no other than the man himself, Mr. Nimrod.

After a few minutes, I thought I recognized him from his photos here and just had to ask if he was "who" I thought he was.

My son talked his ear off and I enjoyed getting to meet him and the info he shared about the area. What a great and friendly guy he is.

Hope we see you out there again Mr. Nimrod !
