    Default 27 Degrees on Nimrod!!

I was determined to fish this morning no matter how cold it was. I sure was glad the sun came out! 27 degrees when I put in, water temp had cooled almost 10 degrees this week.
Fished a while this morning then went to an Easter get together then fished a couple more hours this afternoon. "Abbie" didn't get to go this morning, it was just too cold. The wife said after Abbie saw me pull out with the boat she just layed on my pillow and whined.
I took her out this evening for a little while.
Found lots of fish on 8 to 9 feet brushpiles but had to do a lot of throw backs to end up with nearly a limit for all day.
Crappie were tight in the brush. They bit the Pink/Chart. with the Red Bighead Jig the best followed by the Junebug/Chart. with the Chart. Bighead Jig. Also tipping jigs with the Chart. Glow Crappie Nibbles.

I don't blame the dog at all. Sometimes they have more sense than we do. Congrats on the catch.

I dont know if that dog is to smart or not if she wanted to go for a boat ride in those conditions. I dont think her coat was as thick as her masters.

I think this somewhat proves a point about crappie condos. If it were not for them you probably wouldnt have gone fishing as you would not have had much confidence in just going out and finding fish. But since you knew some specific locations to go wait em out you ended up catching fish. I hope we can get some more condos placed on the Little Maumelle so some of the folks in the Little Rock area can share some similar success stories.

    Thanks for the post.

I caught several off one or two of my spots but did the best on one of the public corp piles. They are not marked anymore but the map they sell at the bait shop has a list of all 32 piles in decimal form.

I did pretty good this afternoon. But it's still cold out there. I caught most of mine off my Persimmon tops.:D I had several good ones , biggest pair about 1.5lbs each. All on Chartruse/black Umbrella tubes.:D They are mostly deep along channel drops.

I really enjoy my cold weather crappie fishing if I'm dressed properly for it and the wind is not to bad.
