We have gulls on our lake that feed on shad. From hybrid stripers and white bass feeding on the shad reminuts form the shad float to the top and fall to the bottom.
The fish crappie,white bass Largemouth feed on the shad usually 25-40 ft.
We find the gulls find the cover find the fish never know what your going to catch.
Can be fun can be frustrating!!Fishing.
We use spinning equipment med to med lite,12-15 lb nanofill with nanofill no leaders.
Good graphs are a Big Plus.

Really like a blue and white jig from mid south It seems to be working consistently for me. Also chartreuse sparkle. I started using sickle hooks this year and really like those.

3 of my favorites. There’s a 99.9% chance I’ll have one of all 3 of these colors out when I’m spider rigging. The Cajun Shad and Money color are probably my 2 best fish catching colors, but at times popsicle will out produce all of them.

Muddy water baits green milk and a pink head.

After PMing Nemrod, I ordered several colors of Southern Pro tubes. The purple/chartreuse and the orange pepper/chartreuse were the two best colors. I'll put
them to heavy test this spring. I caught a lot of fish on the white/pepper flake but a lot of them weren't much bigger than the bait.
