Default Little Maumelle / Have we missed the spawn??

    Guys

I can't figure it out. One week they are full of eggs, and the next some do and some don't. If they did spawn, it was quick, and they sure did not catch fire like I hoped.

Give me some comments of what could have happened.

Hey Joe, predicting them is tough...but here's my thoughts...The fish that move really far upriver to spawn are going to spawn out earlier. There are still going to be fish filtering up the river to spawn from now 'till the end of April. These late spawners probably won't move as far upstream. Therefore, I would start where you were last catching them and work your way downstream till you find some fish. The action should get really good down at the mouth in a month or two.

I found a few fish downstream at the lil maumelle last week. I caught several smaller crappie on our boo condos, but the majority of the keeper fish were hanging on the channel ledge just off a flat at 10'. Very close to the bottom. Here is the link to the report at the bottom of the thread in case you missed it... http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=37763

Now we get thrown a curve ball with the flash flooding that hit tonight. Have a buddy that lives right by Pinnacle that was getting hammered. He said it hailed non stop for 10 minutes. They said the creek by the park was rollin big time and into the pasture and park. With water like that it could have moved some of our condos we had in the channel though I sure hope not.

Joe with the combination of major flow in the bottoms, muddy water and big time cold front you will have time to regroup and figgure those fish out.

I live 5 min from Little Maumelle, and boy did it come a storm. RAIN RAIN RAIN and HAIL HAIL HAIL. I would say that fishing is screwed for about two weeks.
