I accidently hooked it (by the arm) when I was bringing my line in, and that was the only jig I had in that color, and the only one we could catch anything on, so I didn't want to lose the jig so I netted him and brought him in the boat, once he was in the boat the jig came loose and the little guy found a hole in the net before I could get it back in the water. If you notice in the picture you can see my foot where I am standing on the back seat of the boat. I walked across the icechest to get behind him and nudged him with the paddle and he climbed up the carpet on the side of the boat and back in the water.
My bad, that pic is on the thread on the La. Board.

That is a riot. Is that big enough to bite you and if it did is it big enough to do any damage? My daughter would have that in her pocket and brought home as a pet. I swear she is kin to Elly May from the Beverly Hillbillies.

Johnny that seals the deal. I'm not ever going fishing with you if the temps are above 60. They could offer me 3 free days at buds with Randy guiding and I aint going as long as there are gators out.

What did you do with the thing? My wife would have made me sell the boat if we ever saw one much less brought it onboard with our kid. Does your wife not get pissed when you bring freakin gators in the boat with the kids?

Have you seen the pics in this post? Her father does appear to have some Clamptet in him.

Nice catch and even better pics. That had to be a blast hanging out with your kid, family, neighbors and slamin some crappie on a beautiful day. One for the photo album for sure.

Gooch, were you born and raised a city slicker? (just wondering) And the wife or kids were not with me. It was me and my buddy.(if you only knew all the things we did when we were growing up. From catching fish, frogs, to chasing beavers and gators. You name it, we probably did it. We lived on the river for a while and were always in the water or the woods. Them little ones don't bother me, its the ones that are as big as the boat that I stay away from.
And Hemslaw, the little ones can bite and it would do some damage too, think about a garfish biting you, basically the same thing just the gator has a meaner temper. My brother in law used to catch them when he was young. Most of the time when you get close to one at night they just sink straight down. He would reach down in the water and grab them by the jaw. He quit doing that when one of them had its mouth open and closed on his hand and crushed the bones in it...
