Fish-n-Eat Update

It was good to get to meet everyone and thanks Chris for belly full of fish. Yesterday was the maiden voyage for my homemade spidder rig. Caught 15 (8ft deep in 12-15 ft of water right along a drop off down to 20ft) but nothing I wanted to keep (filets only). My father-in-law would have kept them all. He says if its got eyeballs and an a**hole, its big enough to keep. Took my wife and daughter out today and the Strippers would not leave my rosies alone. Ended up keeping a few of them including a double (not sure if it counts since it wasn't Crappie). My wife caught a nice Crappie but for the most part, they were slow. Had to put it right in their face to get them to bite.

Helmslaw, Great pics, good to see that its a family thing too, looks like everyone was enjoying themselves. And for the rod holders, they look like they would work just fine to me. Thanks for the post.

I had a big time. My wife approves of my online buddies (even Gooch), so now I won't feel bad about knocking her off of the computer when I get home. She might even let me start carrying her camera so I can put some pictures on here.

I had a good partner; Coats and I kept around 10. We lucked up on a brush pile up past the Marina.

Great food!! The ruin of my diet was started with Mrs Helmshaw's cookies then topped off by Mrs. Flyfinger's desert. I had lost 4 lbs last week and had 3 pairs of pants I could wear. Now I am back down to only two.

Hey Helmslaw

I saw you yesterday on the Little Maumelle. I was the one in the Alumacraft with the little 4 year old blonde boy in the boat. I even stopped to ask you how you all were doing.

We did good up-river from you all. We fished from the bridge to the pipe. We cought 12. All of them were just under filet size. With him in the boat, I do good to catch 1!!!

We started in front of River Valley Bait, and fished the bank. We were at about 2 feet deep. I got NOTHING. I then went up-river and started at 4 feet deep, and they started to hit. The cold front had them screwed up a little bit I think.

I also saw another board member. I can't remember his board name. He told me but my 4 year old was very interested in talking to him, and everything else, and I could not hear real well. I know that he lives out here in PV in West Little Rock, and he had his wife with him as well. He was also fishing the bank in front of RVB, but I think that he only had 1 crappie when I saw him.

I will be going on Tuesday morning at 7am. Hope to see some of you there, and it is nice to start putting some of these names to a face.

Darn I was glad to see everyone again and meet some new folks. Me and Jason had a blast. hope to to be able to make the get togethers in the future. this is a good thing keep them going.

LRJoe, good to meet you (even though I did not know it was you at the time). Glad to hear you all caught some fish. I know how it can get with a youngster in the boat but there is nothing more fun than spending time with my daughter fishing. She literally squeals when she hooks one and wants to tell everybody that passes what she caught and exactly where she caught it. I have court all this week so probably won't be back out anytime soon. It always seems that right when the fish turn on, my schedule goes nuts. If you ever want some company, pm me and if I don't have court or appointments scheduled, we will hook up.
