    Default Lake Chicot 3-10-07 (Pics)

Went back to Chicot and Connerly bayou today. My brother and I had a lot of action, we probably caught 75 and kept 21. We caught 11 of the keepers in the lake and 10 in the bayou. It was a beautiful day to be fishing, hope everyone got to go.

    My grandson and the catch.

    Our catch.

L.A. good looking fish there. I fished with Slab Hunter about 1 1/2 hrs. fri. with 11 keepers. I think he had about 30+ keepers yesterday and today. No telling how many dinks he threw back. Catching 12-14 ft. in about 20ft. of water. Will try to post pics of the few I kept tomorrow sometime...Rick

Good catch Stumpjumper, looks like Chicot is going to be good this year. I'll be heading that way when I work off this Wednesday going to fish through the weekend. My parents live on the lake, past the county park across from Ditch Bayou. We've caught some nice ones on minnows and jigs.

Good luck KRAPPIE KG, ditch bayou is one of my favorite places to fish for big crappie when they move shallow.

    LA,

where were most of your keepers coming from? I mostly fish up by the state park, but I've had some guys tell me that the best fishing is down south of connerly, in the deeper water. I'm gonna be down there in may, & will more than likely be fishing down in the main lake this year. give me some advice!!

Hey Jerry, glad to see you posting some slab pics. It's tough catching a lot of dinks, but it looks like you brought home some nice keepers. Were you slingin' a RR or using a jig-n-cork?

Also, I'm looking forward to some post-spawn crappie action on Morgan Point. Are the crappie still gonna be in the same spots this year?

Hey Randy, been fishing the lower lake not too far below connerly. Hope you do good in May. If I have any reports then I'll pass them on.
