I won't decide till morning. Heard today the white bass are stating to run on ouachita river hmmm may wait a week. Heard crappie are tearing it up at Jack Nolen and Blue Mountain. Went to a water shed lake late yesterday evening caught 11 big mouth bass before deciding to fish only with a ponyhead and then small jig caught two big bluegill but had to go(missed a dozen so I'll tie some micro jigs). May just fish these watershed lakes around Jim Hinkle Lake.

Looks like Gooch and I will be heading out to the dead sea known as Lake Maumelle. The winds are forecasted to be light, so it will be a good time to get out there and do some scouting for one of our upcoming get-togethers. Hopefully we can find some crappie as well...

Been in L.R. all week. My buddy and I are going after them in the morning here on Nimrod. Haven't heard any good reports from the locals and the Thursday paper said everything "poor" at Nimrod.
Going to start out looking for the warmest water I can find. May try shallow in the afternoon.

CEB -- when I was kid (this is early 60s) my dad, brother and I used to catch the hell out crappie straight across from Jolly Roger's landing on the north side of the lake, on the north side of Snake Island. It gets a bit shallow in there and there isa creek channel (I believe) that runs just east of Snake Island. I went out there a few times last year. Caught no crappie but caught some good 1/4 to 1/2 pount bluegill on the north side of the island.

Might be worth checking out. Gooch is probably familiar with it.

I hope they do something soon. I've talked to several locals and all say bad. WW said he zeroed this week. Billy and I have been doing terrible. Tombstone was catching green carp up the river. I saw a local with two dandy slabs way up Porter Creek yesterday. My biggest Crappie yesterday was on a stump up in Pairie Creek yesterday.Water temp read 59 there yesterday. The brushpiles have been producing dinks.
Oh watch out David there suppose to be a Bass Tournament out of Perryville today.

We got right off in the middle of the bass tournament! Waves were terrible.
We picked up enough fish for supper including my buddy Jim's first crappie of the year..a 1-1/2 lber! He caught it about 10 feet deep on a Red Bighead Jig with a Black/Chart. jig tipped with a minnow.
