Default Need some info on Belco Lake

Where is it? How big is it? Is it game and fish or corps? Is there plenty of places to tie yo-yo's if I wanted to? Thinking about making a trip there next weekend. Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks

i have not been there in years so someone else can probably answer this better than i can. it is an old arkansas river oxbow located near pendleton. i remember lots of cypress trees so there should be plenty of places for yo-yos. i don't know the size but it is big enough to hold lots of crappie and bass. i don't think it is either game and fish or corp. is this the belco you are talking about or is there another somewhere???

Last time I was at belco ramp was nice and muddy. Nice size lake but was during summer and buffalo nats ran me off lake. Sould be ok for crappie and bream alittle latter.

I got a report on Belco just yesterday. A guy that has a camp there has been catching some nice crappie on yoyos. The last couple of weeks they have been best on the outer cypress, but with this warm weather I'd try some of the shallower ones too. The launch is gravel but it is usually pretty good.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

If you make it out to Belco, good luck. Let us know how you did.

Thanks for the report, stumpjumper. I am thinking more serious about going over there now. I thought the white bass run would be on this weekend at the Caddo, but I have got 2 reports of nothing going on over there yesterday and today. Looks like another weekend or two of slabs for me!!! Thanks for the report.
