Beaverfork Lake

I am thinking about giving Beaverfork a shot for crappie due to it being right in my backyard. I have heard from time to time that it has some decent crappie, and receives little pressure. Any ideas or advice on where to start looking? Thanks guys.

I use to fish it a lot as a kid with my Dad, but that has been 40 years ago. Back then there was structure and trees all around the lake, but its all gone now. I would first look for them in the deeper section of the lake over by the concrete tower pump and move towards the swimming area. Fish that rock bank next to the road and tower. Pretty sure the spawn is on the downside there, so they should be moving off a little deeper. Electronics would help a lot and I know there are quite a few people that sink trees here and there. Its such a shallow lake, its going to be a search mission for sure.

i live just over the hill from the lake, it is full of crappie but most are tater chips 6-9 inchers just not worth even puttin the boat in the water on that lake in my opinion

I have heard rumors that the size of crappie has improved some what over the last several years. This wouldn't suprime me considering the lake has had two drawdowns the past two years.

I've seen some decent crappie come out of beaverspoon but crappiegreg is correct you could spend all day there and catch 100 fish and not have 1 keeper.

sounds like it needs to be fished more and the dinks taken out so the others could grow more.

I spent four hours out there Friday and couldn't buy a bite or find a brush pile. Would have enjoyed a few dinks

Beaverfork has hundreds of brush piles in it. I have caught two 2.8 two 3.0 & one 3.3 lb. crappie plus lots of 1 lb. plus.
