    Thumbs up White River

I went into work early yesterday so I got off at 1:00. I have been remodeling a house after work and weekends for a month now so I decided I would skip this after work job and go fishing. Got the spider-rig out at about 3:00 and fished until about 6:00. Ended up with 10 keepers and had 5 throw backs. It sure was good to get out and fish. Think I will try it again this afternoon.:D

Where were you fishing? I did'nt think there were many crappie waters around Batesville.

Glad you got out on the water and found a few slabs. There's nothing better than slipping in a weekday afternoon of fishing. You'd better watch out though, because it is very addictive. You even said it yourself...."Think I will try again this afternoon." Good luck if you go this afternoon, it should be a beautiful day on the water.

I've heard of people catching crappie in eddy areas of White River and in creeks feeding into the river and sometimes a lot, but I've never heard of them doing it spider rigging. Congratulations!

Gooch, I was fishing the White River above Lock 1. I placed some boo in there last summer and some was still there but moved around a little after all the flooding we have had. Had one nice Black-nosed. Have also caught some nice fish out of Ramsey Slough but you throw back about 3 dinks for each keeper (9").

Blair, I bet you can catch them spider-rigging out of Middle Old River.

I'll bet you're right, but I dearly love to pull them out of the thickest brush I can get into.

Good to hear of some keepers coming out of there. I have lauched in front of town here at Batesville and fished some creeks but haven't down much good. I'll be going back though, still got alot to learn about catching crappie in the White. I'm sure we will probably bump into one another.

I am going to try out Hurrican lake south of Augusta. Hopefully they will cooperate with me tomorrow. I fished off of the white river by georgetown before the front hit last week and did no good.
