Hey longpole, I've been wanting to fish Plum Bayou ever since I moved to LR. Just haven't taken the time to drive down there. Thanks for the report, you may have just helped me load the boat and make the drive. The water should be clearing up some this week too.

The farm we duck hunt on is right across Allison Rd from Plum Bayou. I have always wanted to give it a try myself but just have never done it.

Maybe this year I will get over that way!

Is Clear lake right up the road open to the public to fish?

Shouldn't you be posting over on the Georgia board since you done went and abandoned us Arkies!

Yep that fish cleaning table is the best thing since sliced bread! I'm glad she did not take it when she left! Her new boyfriend likes her as much as you! :p

    Slipcork

Yep I have been hunting over there for 13 years now.... we have killed a duck or two in that area!

You ever fish either one in the winter? I see someone fishing in the bayou almost every time I am there. I stay over at the farm shop during duck season quite a bit and have threatened to bring a jig pole and give them a try on some of those sunny winter afternoons. Any tips?

I've only fished plum bayou a couple of times. It is muddy a lot when rain comes in. I had some luck bass fishing in there throwing a big spinnerbait in muddy water. Even caught a couple of crappie too. The main channel stays about 7-8 ft, but it shallows up in the trees real quick, 2-3 ft. Most people troll the channel in the winter, but during the spawn, they will be anywhere in there in shallow water.
