Last night we had a late night electro fishing Lake Conway for our bass sample. We saw a lot of good bass. The biggest was this 7.5 pound old girl. Our technician Sarah had never seen bass like that before and she was pumped. It reminded me of the first time I experienced it. It is hard to describe. After taking the kids to school and grandmas, I figured I'd go wet a line in my favorite lake. I ended up catching two pretty good males and a big one got off due to being barely hooked. I couldn't get the net to her in time. The thumps reenergized me for another late night tonight. By the looks of what I saw last night, I'd say that we are on the upswing of both the bass and crappie spawn on Conway right now. With the strange weather that we had, the spawn bite may seem a little off this year. I'm hoping that I can find a little more time to check out some other areas. All work and no play, makes Matt grumpy!
