Do you ask before you do it or just go and do it?

Technically we are supposed to get a permit to sink condos in our C.O.E. lakes around here but I guess they know we have enough sense not to put condos where it would be a problem so they haven't given us any grief.

We just recently got to know the state fisheries biologists for Lake Greeson and they want to work with us on some bamboo condos. They are going to purchase Quickcrete for us to use to build condos and then take the finished condos out on their new Habitat Barge to sink them. The C.O.E. lets them cut some trees from the banks but only wants them to use non-nut-bearing trees, which ends up being mostly gum and elm, which don't last very long under water.

Now I wish we would have talked to the biologists a long time ago, which would have saved us a lot of money on Quickcrete not to mention not having to get our boats all dirty "Doing The Boo". The biologists will get a lot more cover in the water that will last a lot longer with a lot less effort so it's a good deal for all of us.
