I'll be able to give you a report on Old Town in the morning. I'll be going right by it headed to our camp. If the gauge I'm watching is correct, about 1.2" since the 20th. If that's true, water levels are fine

Heading to Helena this weekend and wondering what lake levels are like around that area and if there are any that need to be avoided? We have gotten quite a bit of water around here in SE Missouri and lakes like Wappapello are very high and you are limited on what ramps you can even use to launch. Wasn't sure how much rain that area has gotten and would appreciate any info on any spots to avoid that will be tough to put in or fish. In the past I have fished Storm Creek, Bear Creek, and Old Town but may venture elsewhere if need be. Thanks,

Water level at Old Town was normal last weekend.
Thanks guys....nothing I hate more than pulling up to a lake and only to find the ramp and everything else is under water!! I figured Store and Bear Creek would be fine but wasn't sure about Old Town. Heck, I may end up across the river anyway if the wind is OK!! Arkcrappie....would appreciate any heads up if Old Town looks bad.
Old Town is fine. Water is starting to get that summer green color. They haven't had much rain

Like others have said Old Town is fine, Moon just across Helena bridge in MS should also be good now. Moon was still high and stained a couple of weekends ago. I'm planning on heading to Enid and Grenada today to fish the holiday weekend. I will swing by Moon and try to report back later today if I get a chance.
You are correct about boat traffic especially on Sardis but we are power trolling in timber so not many jet skis and skiers in those areas especially at Grenada. We pulled cranks last year at moon on Memorial Day and was able to fish north end of lake away from traffic. Lots of folks tie up at moon, swim and drink I guess. Wardens were there writing tickets so it was fairly calm.
Pretty uneventful for us this weekend......Pushed cranks at Storm Creek on Saturday and only managed to catch 6 or so striped bass. Went to the slack water harbor on Sunday and pushed cranks with about the same results except it was white bass. Not a single crappie either day.
