    Default Horseshoe Lake Hughes

Havent been there all year but we are going to be there next week for 4 days and wondered if anyone has been there lately and could share the bite report and how the lake conditions are overall. Typically try them all, crappie, bream and catfish with yoyo's. Would you target the pads or the docks for crappie? We havent found much on the bream front last few tries, any suggestions there?

    Thanks!

They've been catching fish on and off. They should be on the outer edge of the pads and trees and definitely on the piers.

The bull bluegills are fixing to go crazy there. Great fishing for the gills when they bed. I use a 1/32 jig head with either a cricket or wax worm on it and no skirt. I jig fish for them in the pads, or in and around the willow on the east end. Lots of times you can use a 1/16th jig with a skirt AND a wax worm and catch both bream and crappie in the same places.

Sounds good bigriver, looking forward to it, hope the weather does us right. Wasn't sure what the water temp is on the lake but I figured it was about to get right for the gills if it hasn't already. We will be there next week wednesday through sunday, if your out there holler at me.
