A Golden Crappie Discussion

I caught a one eyed crappie one time at White Oak Lake. He was about 1.5 lbs......good & healthy. Looked like someone had taken a little bitty ice cream scoop and scooped his eyeball out of the side of his head. It had green skin growing over the hole. I turned him loose and have always wondered if someone has caught him and made dinner out of him. I would love to catch him again someday. I still remember the stump where I caught him and go by there nearly every time......but alas, he's moved on to another spot.

Golden crappie? Never heard of them or seen a real one.

Beaverfork may have a gold crappie lurking in its waters. I caught a small light gold colored fish years back in my cast net, it wasn't a goldfish,golden shiner or anything else i could identify. I never would have suspected it being a crappie because of the color. i did release it so.....
