    Default xpress boats

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with xpress boats...There is one at a local boat place here in FS and it's a 1999 H56 with a 90 hp Evenrude? The price is $8995....That sounds high but man does this thing look great for a 99....
They also said they would give me 90 day warranty on the motor....

I fish out of a 1987 Alumaweld which now is Express I think. I've had it from day 1 and love it. I use it more than you can believe too. Hunting ,fishing, and even run nets out of it when my buddy's boat is down. But that price sounds high to me too.

I guess that is the 18' model? Also, I saw where the max hp for that boat was 140...so a 90hp might be a little sluggish on it. It still seems a little high for '99 model. What does a new model of that boat cost?

I purchased a 2003 Xpress 18 HP with a 115 jet. What a ride. I have owned several boats but none that match the quality of Xpress. Make sure that the motor is enough for the boat. My boat will only run about 33 mph with the jet unit but I can also run in 4 in of water.

I bought an H56 in 1998. Its actually 18'3". I had a 150 on it. That was my first full sized bass boat. I was very happy with it. It looked great, fished great, and ran like a race car with the 150. I replaced my H56 with an X-19 mounted with a 200 HPDI last year and Im in love with it. Sometimes I just go out in my garage and stare at it! LOL. Seriously though, i think you would be happy with the boat. I dont know how much is too high as far as money. Maybe with the smaller motor that price you mentioned is too high..but i really dont know. I do know that I would put the biggest motor on it I could afford. Thier performance tends to really shine more when they have ample power rather than marginal power. Just my 2 cents.

The last two fishing boats I have bought, I bought brand new. But, now my theory is new boats and veheicles depreciate about 20% the day you drive off with them. I bought a truck last year 3 years old but, less than $17000. I could have equiped a new one the same way with another $10000. I did have to spend close to $1000 for a fuel pump. I have satisfied my mind that I am still $9000 ahead.
Moral of the story, if you think the boat is a good one and has low hours, buy that puppy for 1/2 price of a brand new one. Convince your wife you have saved her $$$$$ like she tries to do you when she buys stuff in the store 1/2 off first though.
