    Default Massard Creek Ft Smith

Anybody ever fish it for crappie or ever hear of anyone who fished it? It's literally in my back yard but haven't ever heard of it being any good or bad. Thinking about trying it tomorrow to see but don't want to waste a day fishing somewhere where they aren't really there. I have enough trouble catching them at good holes of water. Guess I'll never know unless I try, huh? Want to try out my new 4.5 Evinrude too which should make life easier.

My dad and I use to fish it when I was a child. We would park in Gringo's/Bamboo Lagoon parking lot and fish right below it with minnows. We caught fish. Usually only a few feet off of the bank so guess he always took me when he heard the spawn was on. I remember it always being in the spring. I'd give it a shot. Let us know how you do if you go since it's pretty much in my backyard as well. Good luck to you!

I use to fish it when I lived in FS and done well, caught good crappie and catfish, it's not deep so be careful.

That settles it then...going there tomorrow. I'll give a report when done but remember, I'm new to this crappie fishing. Not even gonna take any bass fishing stuff to fall back on so I'll have to use my brain and think which I don't have to do when bass fishing. Yeah Preacher, its a shallow area for sure. Thanks for the feedback!

fished from 9am to 12:45 and didn't get a single bite. Not any deep water..about 4ft average in most channels. Went home and got my bass fishing stuff and didn't get a bump fishing for them either. Doubt I'll ever go back there. Carp were everywhere! Rather drive 3 hours and catch fish than go through a wasted day not catching them just because it's close to the house. Talked to 2 other boaters and they were having same luck as I was. Shoal Bay this weekend so maybe better days are coming!

I hit Massard creek up yesterday and didn't get a single bite either. I'm convinced the fish haven't moved up real shallow yet in AR River creeks in this part of the state. I hope someone can prove me wrong.

I cant seem to find them anywhere I've gone lately. Just spent 4 hours fishing with my father in law at Shoal Bay and no crappie. Just a few bass and catfish. Maybe I'm just really bad at this lol.
