Anybody ever fished lee creek for crappie? It's close to the house but I've never tried it before

Never have just crappie fished it but have caught some good ones below the spillway on crank baits while bass fishing. Like Spatzie said the reservoir is closed until they repair the buoy line.. last time I was out there half of it was hanging over the spillway!
