After watching the impressive caca weigh in the other day we decided we would go back to the cup and see if we couldn't find some of those big ole slab crappies. We spider rigged the main open part of the lake trying to stay somewhere around .4 mph which at times was hard to do with the wind wanting to push that flatbottom from one end of the lake to the other like a sailboat. I didn't have any chains on me at the time and not wanting to destroy the new drift sock i decided to put out an old window weight and began dragging it behind me. It was on after that , with full control over that boat we beeped and bopped around and got back to setting hooks. We never got on any big numbers of fish but the ones we was on you didn't have to check and see if it was 10 inches or not. Most fish was caught dragging double minnow rigs and arkie pro tube xl in white and chartreuse and midsouth jig chartreuse with some sparkle flake in it.we sure are having a blast with this spider rigging and are enjoying learning more about it with every trip to the water. Now just need to learn how to use this lowrance elite 4 hdi so I can justify spending the money on a high quality si unit. Any tips for how to educate yourself on these graphs?
