I'm from the Sheridan area, and love some crappie fishin. I am glad I found this site, already some good ole stories I have read. Me and a buddy have been to Cane Creek twice already this year. We caught 6 our first trip in early Jan.(3 over 2 lbs.) we went back last weekend, and only caught 1(weighed 2.8). We have been going at night and yo-yoing. It was brutally cold last weekend. I will not read the fishin report anymore, I'll just check with you guys(report said biting well on yo-yos!!!!) I will quit rambling on. Glad to be here, look forward to hearing from you guys.
Any reports on DeGray yet?

Good to hear something from CC, branthill. Glad you signed up with a report. I fished down at CC from the beginning of November through late December. Caught one at 3lbs and had several top 2lbs. Had a limit of 15 fish every trip. Then they just slowed down as the hydrilla started dying. Can't wait for them to pick back up...
I guess y'all were running yo-yo's in the beverpond? How deep were y'all settin' those yo-yo's and what were you using for bait? I know those CC crappie really like rosies...
Have you tried L. Monticello lately? I figure with the really cold weather, they'd be stacked up down there.

Slipcork - Yes, I know Eddie. His wife was one of my teachers in high school.
Ceb - thanks for the rosie tip..This is our first year to fish CC. We was fishing what they called the beaverpond right around the corner from state park ramp. We tried different depths, but most was set from 6 inches to 2 feet deep. We will get us some rosie reds for next trip, thanks.
Welcome to the board Brant. Eat a 3 peice dinner for me.

Hey Branthill, welcome to the site. Look forward to your posts.
A bad day of fishing

Welcome from South Louisiana, and you are correct, them fishin reports don't always steer you in the right direction.
You can't fish with a hung line!
