So last weekend we were fishing in the river channel that's 20 ft deep fishing about 12 ft down water was 55 degrees and catching them back to back spider rigging. This weekend water temp dropped to 49 and we tried the same spots, shallower spots, deeper spots and fished shallower and deeper and could hardly get bit we even started changing colors and minnows. So what would you veteran crappie catchers do in this situation to find crappie?

If cold front with high pressure and surface temps drop look for fish tight to wood and or bottom . But if water temps suddenly rise on surface they can suspend ultra shallow even over deep water .![]()
