Picked up a paper with sports page full of fishing reports . It said Lake Nimrod excellent for Crappie right now . The lake is bad muddy and 30' high ! Nimrod has been high and muddy for awhile . Only ones I've seen or heard Crappie fishing here are a few in the river below the dam . There has been some fish caught below the dam but most I know about been small . Not sure where the reports come from but AGFC report is from Perryville bait shop and a local marine salvage dealer near the lake that don't fish .![]()

Nimrod is correct. Those guys that give the newspaper the fishing reports don't even fish. Unless there is a big change the paper just repeats the previous weeks report. I wish the paper would get their info from Andrews Bait shop, they are on the lake and usually have upto date info
Headed for the lake, the bite is finally on.

I was headed that way after reading the report.
HA
Kind of reminds me of all the Presidential Debates I have watched over the years.
The reports are from tackle shops and sometimes they need to turn their bait so fishing is good. I think I should give the reports since I don't fish anymore.
NIMROD LIKED above post
Andrews is a good fella in my book and will tell ya whether the lake is doing anything. The reports have rarely been accurate. They are fun to read though. Guess if they were accurate then just give a lot of folks something to gripe about bringing too much folks to the lake and fish.
Kinda like duck hunting report now, pretty useless. Sad to see what was once a good tool for the weekend warrior to help up their odds go useless due to so many selfish folks that say the reports cause over fishing and hunting.
Taboo for folks to talk about where they fish anymore. Times have changed and not for the good with all the greed, envy, and jealousy in this world now.
I hope everyone catches a boatload of fish, keep what you can use and release the rest.
