This is the link to the Gen 2 units. Think I will hold off until I see how well it performs. I did not see a lot of change to my HDS7 touch features, but I may have missed something.

Never seen much need for any of the updates myself , I'm happy with the way mine work and haven't done any updates in over a year , I'm not a computer guy so the updates seem to cause more problems for me than it's worth , is it really nessarry to do the updates or not ? Maybe someone with more computer skills can shed some light on this subject

I think this one is geared to add support for 3D structure scan. Sure wish I had the need to update for that. Anyone got the 3d scan yet?

This update also allows for the main engine steering module and the Power Pole use.

That I'm not sure about. Should say on Lowrance's website. I think they will tho.

Read what the latest update does. It should tell you.

I just went and read the update. Yes they do handle the new 3D module.
