Default TAKE CAUTION , EVEN MORE SO FOR INEXPERIENCED BOATS IN THESE FLOOD WATERS .

Over the years I have been all over these river bottoms (Petit Jean ) in high water. Sometimes in a boat but most times in a canoe . But most folks should take heed it can get quite dangerous in high swift water . Your motor quits and you can be in big trouble . I perfer using a canoe with a paddle but if you get cross ways in the curret it can spell disaster . Here is another rescue reported by the Sherriffs dept here .

Quick action by the Yell County Sheriff's Office, Mounted Patrol, Swift Water Rescue Units and Ola Police saved the life of three individuals, who became trapped in a boat in the Petit Jean River. Authorities indicate they received a distress call from individuals, indicating the boat was off Highway 7, in the river near Ola. The trio was rescued, without any significant injury, according to officials.

Yell County rescue has been sent out 6 times in the flood waters to rescue people in last day according to the news ..
