Since Jacob is grounded from winter fishing with his Dad, I had the chance to meet up with Chris and take a road trip to a lake that we fished earlier in the year but didn't have much luck. This time was a different story. We were the first to launch and the last to leave. We spanked them early on with winds out of the east. As the wind switched out of the south, the fish quit biting. We picked up a few on our way back to the ramp and ended the day with 44 keepers. All fish were over 10". The unusually thing was that 41 of the 44 were black crappie. Most of the time I catch way more whites. It was a great day that resulted in 2 gallons of fillets. We never locked down a pattern because the wind level and direction and the amount of sunshine changed so much. We mainly used mid south tubes with some chartreuse on 1/8th oz jig heads of various colors. Jacob helped me take care of the fish since he couldn't go. Can't wait to go back!
