Took a friend Green Carp fishing today. Really too hot but we released over 3 x as many as our limits we kept . I plan on hitting the Catfish later this week and maybe get back after the Crappie with those (Nimrod specials )Southern Pro Purple/Chartuse Umbrella tubes .

Thanks Greg , we need folks to keep them. They had such a huge spawn , you won't be able to fish minnows. I predict them to eat themselves out of food quickly on Nimrod. That will mean less food available for Crappie next couple years and slower growth . In my opinion after this year Nimrod will be fuller of dinks (small Crappie) than ever .

My oldest boy would love to get on some bass like that! He's eat up with it. He's got bass rods and gear laying around everywhere. He thinks crappie fishing is for old people. Maybe he will understand one of these days? I'm just glad he's loves to fish - sure beats what he could be doing......

I can understand that , I used to Bass fish back in the 1980's , belonged to 3 Bass clubs . Now I seldom go unless just taking friends . Fun to catch but other than that just trash fish these days . I have been wearin them out lately but don't keep any unless friends want to cook them . I have no problem see'n folks stick a knife in a limit of Bass . I mostly fish for Crappie and Catfish . Rather eat Buffalo ribs or Flathead Catfish any day . But I have fun catching anything that will pull on my line too.

Yeah I like the buffalo ribs myself. Most people don't get to enjoy that or no much about. December -February they eat really good. Id be pretty hungry to eat Asian Carp ribs Lowe?
