It just sits in there. We fish the river pretty often and I wanted something i could remove easy. It just has 3 2x4 runners and two supports per runner and the plywood is screwed to the 2x4. It is light enough for me to just grab and pull out no problem.

There are some aftermarket mounts for Duracraft that come in 1/2 or 3/8 thread size. Driftmaster and several other use these two sizes and you can also buy a 2, 3 or 4 rod holder T-Bar that will screw into the 1/2 size holder. Beauty of this is no holes to drill and you can position anwhere along either side and take off in seconds.

Naw, Lawnmower man, the front low deck is the way the boat is made. As you can see, there is a really short deck at the front of the boat and then it drops down about 6 inches and goes back maybe 40 inches and then drops down to the floor of the boat (diamond plate) and goes back about two feet until you hit the middle seat which I had put in the boat at the factory. It is a full size (all the way across the boat) aerated live well. Behind that seat is the floor again about 48 inches back to the back seat. All I did was build a floor between the front low deck back to the front of the middle seat. I built it from treated 2x8 custom cut to fit and decked with 3/4 inch treated plywood. I put two center braces in it, about a foot apart and mounted another seat pedestal which I used, along with a pac stand I made, to hold the Sportsbrella. This whole set up worked really well for me. I just wanted a bigger boat to fish bigger water.
Oh, and I cut the lift up doors and mounted them with piano hinge type hinges so I could lift them up and store life jackets, etc. underneath the deck. Very easy to do.
