    Default Another Decent Greeson Trip

Had a pretty good trip on Greeson today. Fished from around 8:45 to 2:00 and kept 36 up to 14.5-inches.

Most of them were around 22-feet deep but we caught a few over 30-feet deep again. They much preferred Rosey Red minnows and small Shiners over jigs today.

Wow! That's a nice catch Jerry. Those bamboo condos are really paying off. Should be a good weekend before that cold front pushes through. Hope y'all catch a lot this weekend.

    A bad day of fishing

    Nice fish Jerry! Again!
Really like your website and someday hope to make it down there to fish. I was a message board lurker until just recently, remember you auctioning off some of your guide trips a year or so ago. A friend and I are thinking about a trip to Norfork later this month, but my wife wants to go on a short trip in your direction, possibly Hot Springs in February, so may not be able to do both. Problem is I don't think she would want to spend time on the lake. I could possibly fill a trip if you ever had only 1 person book a trip. Besides your trips are there places from shore on any of the 3 lakes down there to catch crappie in February? Not knowing the area at all -never been there-what general area would you reccommend stayin? Fishing, golf, shopping, etc. nearby. I know you are a fishing guide and not a travel agent, but
    Thanks!

Looks like you tore them up to me. Jerry says, "Decent is the act of filling the livewell and making your clients happy, Grasshopper." "Aweso", says Grasshopper, lol.

There's a young guy renting here at Buena Vista that comes every year and works at the track. He's a big time crappie angler. I just finished talking to him and his buddy and they brought in 40 decent keepers. Said they were under docks down past the 70 bridge in 40' of water suspending at about 20'. We might need to give that a try.

Thanks y'all, it was a fun trip.

Jerry, the bamboo condos are really paying off. We caught several fish today on condos we put down just a couple months ago. With the lake level so high it's a good thing we put some in because a lot of our older condos are too deep now.

CrappieHusker, I would recommend staying in Hot Springs if shopping is on the agenda but for golf and fishing Glenwood would be good. The live racing season will on at Oaklawn if y'all are into that sort of thing.

There's a couple fishing piers on Lake Hamilton where folks catch crappie during the spring and early summer but with the lake down and the crappie fairly deep I don't know if they would be productive or not during the winter.

The one at Sunnybrook by the dam has some really deep water around it and a lot of brushpiles so there's a good chance you could get a mess there. You can also fish for stocked trout from the bank below the dam. Let me know when you're going to be here and if I have someone else wanting to share a trip I'll let you know. If we're working on condos and/or scouting (fishing for fun) you would be welcome to join us if you don't mind a couple hours of work and 3 or 4 hours of fishing.

Darryl, the fish on Hamilton must be getting in a better mood. We'll have to check out the docks. I know they can be productive but you know how much I like cranky dock owners.
