2015 JBQ National Championship!

Man, what a year! It has been a long road leading up to the events of the past few days. Thanks to lots of hard work and studying, the kids on the Jacksonville Mcarthur Junior Bible Quiz team made 3rd in the State meet, which moved them on to regionals in Springfield Missouri last month, and finally nationals this weekend in Chicago Illinois!!



The kids that make it to this level of competition have spent countless hours studying God's word, and have memorized hundreds of verses of scripture. There were teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida, New York, Washington, California, all over the country!





We finished 36th out of the 80 top teams in the country! I'm a proud papa!





We also got to do a little sight-seeing while we were in Chicago. The industrial museum was pretty cool. Wasn't too impressed other than that. Oh yeah, Pizano's Chicago-style deep dish pizza was delicious! Almost worth the 4 hours of rush-hour traffic, 36 dollar parking fee, and the crowd-induced panic attack that my wife had!





This was a great experience for me as well as my children, and I would encourage everyone to get their kids involved in something like this. The experience was great, but the knowledge and wisdom that the kids get from this will be with them for the rest of their lives!
