CP you are correct! Know him personal. He is also responsible for the flying carp.

Who ever is responsible for the flying carp may have changed the entire ecosystem as we know it . I don't think we have begun to see what all damage is being caused by their presence in our waters. Another good example of having something here that doesn't belong . Someone should pay dearly for it getting into our public waters. When will folks learn , we are not GOD!

It was your US government that introduced the Flying (asian) carp in the 1960's. The introduction was in keeping with a strong environmental and political mandate of that day to replace the broad use of chemicals with biological controls. For about 10 years, federal and state agencies and university systems strongly promoted introductions, spawning, and nationwide stocking of the grass carp.

I know that the spread of the asian carps did land in Arkansas 1st, and at the FWS research station. I might be wrong on the years though. I know the grass carp was the 1st on n the station in the 60's and that is where the GC escaped captivity. I can only assume that that is how the silvers got out also.

Since we are on the topic, I watched an old episode of river monsters the other night and forgot about the snakeheads in ark. Has their been anymore or any updates on multiple fish being found in any waters?
He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
