    Default lake greeson

I know this a crappie site, however I was wanting to know if anyone would be willing to lead me in the right direction for bass fishg on lake greeson.Me, the wife, and kids are making the trip up there at the end of this month. We are coming from just south of baton rouge,la. I love crappie fishing, but bass fishing is my passion, all I would like to know is,what are the most common baits used on the lake, do I need to fish cover or deep water? I fish mainly in the Atchafalaya here in Louisiana and you pretty much just ride around and cast at the bank all day. Not much deep structure fishing, this is what I have come accustomed to. We are renting a 'fishing barge' pontoon boat so we will not have depth finders or gps. Just would like to know how to generally fish the lake and what types of baits for bass( large mouth, small mouth, anything that bites mouth)lol

Hey man, welcome to the site. I wish I could help you, but I don't know anything about, what did you call it "bass fishing"? I think I've heard of it but don't think I could bring myself to do it. I'm just messing with ya. I'm sure there's some guys on here that go both ways that can help you, but it ain't me. I bet you guys will have a great time on a beautiful lake no matter what. Good luck.

Good luck , should be a closet Green Carp fisherman on here that knows something about Greason. We Crappie fishermen call Bass '' Green Carp '' or '' Tomato Fertilizer " even a few of us that used to chase em alot .

I've seen lots of bass fishermen hugging the banks at Greeson. Not sure what they're throwing at them. I have seen people catching bass there before, mostly Kentuckys. Also, I've seen them schooling out in the main lake when the sun is up on a clear day. Mostly whites, from what I've caught when they come up close enough to chunk at. Yes, I have gone "both ways" before. We call them "busterds" in my family. As my uncle used to say......they'll eat too.

Good luck to you. Hope you all have a great time. GTT
