He is 2 and a half years old and was going to be sitting in the birds eye seat next to the Captain manning the spider! It was my and our very first time to ever lay eyes on this lake, although I had been given reliable tips by great friends. Now it had been a week since they fished it, so things do change some but they didnt change too much. I started off in the groups of boats. After fishing for an hour I only saw 1 crappie being caught. There were fish on the graph, but couldnt buy a bite. Then my wife says "Are those seagulls over there flying around? Are they diving into the water." Why yes it was, so we hit the high gear and got over there. Once again fish were found on the graph. It wasn't long and The first pole went DOWN! The bite was very slow, but we were fishing in post-frontal conditions. In my mind that makes a difference. I would have to troll into the wind and pass through fish, thats when I would catch one, then let the wind blow us back off of them. Then come back through them again against the wind. We never caught more than one fish in a pass. By the end of the day we ended with 10 SLABS! Culled several and missed several. Although we were spider rigging, I would be facing the back of the boat talking to my wife and son, when they were back there, turn around and a rod would be buried lol!!! My boy was wore slap out in the drive back to Dewitt. This was truely a Great day! Im so thankfull to have all the things I have been blessed with! I am terrible by the way at the 4 fish hold! Any tips please!!!???!!![/COLOR]
