meet up with a good friend for a couple days of rippin lips, first day we found em in 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 fow right on the bottom, we were pushing pony heads at .8 to 1 mph and by days end managed to put 26 nice fish in the live well sith a couple fish breaking the 2lb mark
day 2 started off very slow with the drop in water temp from 60 degrees to 55 degrees , we quickly found that the area we had found in the day before was a bust and spent the next few hours trying to relocate some active fish, eventually we found em in 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 fow and the catching soon began, we ended the day withe 36 and the gig fish of the day was a 2.95 lb hawg , fishing in the rain all day wasnt the most pleasant day of fishing but watching my best friend wrestles the big girls in the boat was priceless
i love the big egg filled females this time of year!!!!!

these are the baits we were using, the curly tail minnow from Arkie, we tried up against the mister twister, kalin's and strike king curly tails and these out performed all others 4 to 1 , best colors on this trip were the bottom 3 green/chart , pink/chart and orange/chart , the heads were pink 1/16 oz hand poured pony's with a red sickle hook!![]()
