Hey Bubba, some nice crappie there. Are the white bass still biting alot, they were the last time I was there.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.
Jerry
your right. we were catching them at 37, 38 feet. never felt them hit just had to watch the line.
hello l.a. stumpjumper, yes the white bass are still biting well.saturday was my first time fishing over there .i will be back it doesn't take that many fish like that to make a mess. oh the largemouth bass were biting also, seen one guy throw a 6lbs. 2 oz. back.
Thanks for the report Bubba. I am waiting for Monticello to turn on before I get out there to snatch a few lips from 40' deep. I've never fished water that deep before, so I'd better wait till they are jumping in the boat before I venture forth...
Be sure we all know when they "turn on" on Monticello. Fished for a few green carp there and caught an 8.8 2 yrs ago. (Fried up rather nicely too.) I to, like ceb, have never attempted fishing for crappie that deep. That would be an experience within itself.
we went one day last week i think it was friday may have been saturday. there had to of been at least 20 to 25 boats in that spot. we caught 11. real slow fishing. i don't believe theyre in their like the used to be. one guy i know last winter took 2000 out of there. oh and alot of white bass and goggle eye

Yeah they have been thinned out alot. 2 years ago there was a tremendous amout of crappie taken out of there. But the size is a lot better now that they have been thinned.Originally Posted by SEARKfisherman
