Went out again today with enough bait so I didnt make the same mistake that i did yesterday. Caught em in the same place and conditions as yesterday. Ended up with 16. Got out there later than planned. Boy it was a blast though! Biggest was this 16.80lb monster! All caught on skipjack! Boy it was cold. Our reels were forming ice on them, and they were hard to operate! We lost a fish right at the side of the boat that looked to be 30lbs plus. My buddy that was with me had no idea that the catfishing could be this fast paced in this cold of weather!

Most folks believe myths on Catfish. They don't stop feeding in winter. They don't always bottom feed . They are good eating if from clean water , not too big , and prepared correctly. Nice mess of whisker fish.

congrats on some fine winter time cattin'! by far my favorite time of year for whisker fish. I fish the Missouri, and most of our fish are about the size of yours. with an occasional nicer blue, usually getting off at the side of the boat.... sure beats sitting at home!
