River will be too high and muddy would be my guess.

I have not had a chance to go at all, just curious if anyone has tried and succeeded in catching any?

I have tried going twice and Nimrod is right, there was too much water going through the dam. I did catch a white bass and a small black crappie though. It seems that when the river is right, the end of January and into February is the time to go.

Catch 4 or 5 a year out there 3 to 5 pounds......they are great pan seared......
They have been in maumelle for 20 years I guess they was talking to you about them a long time ago nimrod. And pretty sure they don't repopulate, the have to keep stocking them.

They keep stocking them and saw where they did. I know they show on monthly stocking reports sometimes. But an AGFC biologist told me they only stocked them in lakes not connected to the river. Reason was I asked why not stock them in Nimrod again. They said the first time was a mistake. I asked them then why Maumelle and they could not answer. Never said they did not but just saying they told me something that they did not follow with their stocking program.
This Saugeye thing was in a post earlier.
